Frequently asked questions

If something looks confusing about your result or this tool, it's probably covered here.

Why doesn't the "average grade point" here match the CGPA I expect?

Because it isn't your official CGPA — it's an unweighted average of your grade points. Your real CGPA weights each course by its credit hours, so a 4-credit course counts more than a 1-credit lab. See the Grading System page for the exact formula.

Is this the official BOU result site?

No. This is an independent tool built by a fellow student to make the grading system easier to understand. For anything official — transcripts, certificates, grade disputes — use BOU's official result portal and registrar's office.

Can I see other students' results here?

No. You can only look up a result by entering that exact student ID — there's no browsing, listing, or ranking of other students on this site.

My result isn't showing up, or shows old data.

This tool reads from a results file that gets refreshed each semester. If your latest semester isn't showing yet, it likely hasn't been loaded in yet — check back after the next update, or check the official portal directly in the meantime.

I got a grade I don't understand or think is wrong. What do I do?

This tool can't help with that — grade queries, re-checks, or disputes have to go through your course teacher or BOU's examination office. The handbook notes that answer scripts are not re-evaluated once submitted, so it's worth understanding your marks breakdown (attendance, assignments, quizzes, final exam) before raising a query.

Do I need to log in or create an account?

No. Just your student ID — same as the official site.
